"Operation Saddle Up" provides equine assisted services to our wounded warriors returning from
Iraq & Afghanistan that have lost limbs, have post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), concussive brain injuries from bomb blasts, and other war related
injuries or illnesses.
In January 2008 Cornerstone was one of three programs invited to participate in a pilot program designed to define the very specific and unique needs of our wounded and ill veterans. We worked extensively with doctors, physical and occupational therapists, mental health experts, and master certified therapeutic riding instructors to insure that the services being provided would meet the unique needs of these brave men & women. The pilot was the first of its kind in San Diego and we are proud to have been part of the team that developed this program. "Operation Saddle Up" moved to Cornerstone in September of 2008 and is thriving. It has been truly miraculous to see the positive impact and life changing effect the horses are having on our veterans.
We are honored and humbled for the opportunity to give back to the men and women who have fought so bravely and selflessly to protect our country and our freedom.
